Associate Director/Director, Cancer Pharmacology

REVOLUTION Medicines discovers and develops new drugs that translate frontier cancer targets through exceptional drug discovery delivering revolutionary medicines on behalf of cancer patients. Our innovative science draws inspiration from nature and evolution, which offer insights into cancer targets, disease mechanisms and therapeutic approaches. As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.

As a senior member of the Cancer Pharmacology team you will:

  • Be a critical member of the Biology Department and the multi-disciplinary research project teams.

  • Integrate your drug discovery expertise and deep knowledge of oncogenic signaling pathways into the design and execution of experiments related to the discovery of novel anti-cancer agents, including but not restricted to:

    • Generation of in vivo SAR to support lead optimization

    • Establishment of preclinical PK/PD relationships

    • Generation of data packages to support development candidate selection and IND submission

    • Resistance mechanisms and combination strategies

  • Be accountable for the conduct of cutting-edge pharmacology and tumor biology, integrating knowledge from oncology, cell biology and human genetics, to support development of novel therapies and/or selection of novel candidate targets, using innovative technologies and approaches.

  • Lead and manage a team that includes internal scientists/pharmacologists, some Ph.D. level, in addition to an extended network of CRO scientists.

  • Be accountable for experimental data outputs and presentation of results in internal meetings, to external advisors/investors and at scientific conferences.

  • Establish and manage relationships with external collaborators in the cancer biology field in basic and translational research.

Required Skills
  • Ph.D. degree in pharmacology, oncology, cell biology or a related discipline, with 2-3 years of post-doctoral and ideally over 4+ years of relevant industry experience in cancer discovery biology from target selection to late preclinical evaluation for Associate Director level and 6+ years for Director level.

  • Deep expertise in oncogenic signaling pathways and prior drug discovery experience is a must.

  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications.

  • Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills, prior project team leadership roles would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.

  • Experience working with external collaborators in cancer biology field in basic and/or clinical science.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist.
