Senior Research Associate, Biophysics

As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer.

Opportunity

As a key member of our Lead Discovery team, you will focus on applying and enhancing our measurement capabilities by:

  • Independently designing and executing biophysical assays and other experiments to characterize proteins and complexes, and to assess ligand/protein interactions using:

  • SPR, BLI and as applicable other surface-based methods

  • ITC and DSF characterization of compound/protein interactions

  • Other protein characterization (CD, DSC, MS etc.)

  • Generating appropriate protein constructs to enable systematic study of protein function and the characterization of small molecule binders.

  • Expression and purification from E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells

  • Milligram-scale protein purification

  • Collaborating with project teams to design and execute experiments that inform project decisions with relevant protein structure and ligand interaction results.

  • Interfacing with computational chemists and biologists to generate novel insights that fuel drug development.

  • Running fragment-based screening campaigns on novel therapeutic targets.

Required Skills
  • BS in biophysics, enzymology, structural biology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of small molecule drug discovery experience with a strong track record of scientific rigor and innovation.

  • Experience developing and executing protein purification methods.

  • Expertise in protein and protein-ligand complex crystallization and characterization a plus.

  • Facile with instrumentation, able to trouble shoot problems and work with engineers to resolve issues.

  • Rigorous, quantitative, detail-oriented experimentalist with an understanding of statistics.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Innovative, team-player with high energy for our dynamic company environment.

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
